Steps by step instructions to network setup in Ubuntu
What is it:
This is a simple step by step instruction to network setup and internet connection activation in your Ubuntu machine; with an example of Mobile Broadband (Data Card).
How to configure:
Step 1: Connect the LAN cable, Data Card etc. to the computer.
Step 2: Go to Desktop and click on Networking symbol and from the drop-down list click on Edit Network Connections.
Step 3: From the Network Connections box select the mode of connection that you use [Wired (LAN), Wireless (Wi-Fi), Mobile Broadband (Data Card) etc.] and click on Add.
Step 4: Set up the New Mobile Broadband Connection.
Step 5: Choose your Provider’s Country or Region.
Step 6: Choose your Connection Provider.
Step 7: Confirm Broadband settings and click on Apply.
Step 8: Then go to Desktop and click on System Settings.
Step 9: From the System Settings click on Network.
Step 10: Select the mode of internet connection you use (Eg: Mobile broadband).
Step 11: Slide the button On to connect to internet.
